TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR MEMBERSHIP REGISTRATION
Last Updated 18/07/2025 By registering as a member of the Restoration Alliance Party (RAP), you agree to the following Terms and Conditions:
1.INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the Restoration Alliance Party (RAP). These Terms and Conditions govern your membership in RAP and outline your rights, responsibilities, and obligations as a party member. By registering, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by them.
2.ELIGIBILITY FOR MEMBERSHIP
To register as a member of RAP, you must:
- Be a Kenyan citizen
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Provide accurate, truthful, and complete information during registration
- Maintain only one membership account
- Not be a registered member of any other political party in Kenya
- Be of sound mind and act voluntarily
RAP reserves the right to reject any application that does not meet these criteria or is found to contain false or misleading information.
3.DECLARATION AND AFFIRMATION
By completing the registration process, you declare and affirm that:
- You are joining RAP willingly, without coercion or inducement.
- You have not misrepresented any information and understand that false declarations may lead to suspension or revocation of membership.
- You commit to upholding the Constitution, ideology, policies, and values of the party.
- You accept that RAP may use your membership information in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
This declaration is made in line with the Constitution of Kenya (2010), the Political Parties Act (2011), and RAP’s own Constitution and regulations.
4.MEMBERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
By joining RAP, you agree to:
- Uphold the RAP Constitution, by-laws, and guiding principles.
- Participate in party meetings, nominations, elections, outreach activities, and national programs.
- Respect party leadership and contribute to implementation of party resolutions.
- Maintain party unity, dignity, and cohesion in word and conduct.
- Promote and defend RAP’s legitimate positions, leadership, and public image.
- Voluntarily pay the prescribed membership and annual subscription fees.
- Avoid conduct that may damage the party’s reputation or contradict its objectives.
5.SPECIAL INTEREST CATEGORIES
Members applying under any of the following special interest groups must provide verifiable documentation:
- Persons with Disabilities (PWD): Valid NCPWD registration
- Ethnic Minorities: Proof of recognized minority status
- Marginalized Communities: Residence or origin from areas officially designated as marginalized
6. Account and Communication
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining confidentiality of your account credentials
- Ensuring email or SMS verification and other identification steps are completed if requested
- All activity carried out through your membership account
- Promptly notifying the party’s National Secretariat of any unauthorized access or changes
By becoming a member, you consent to receive official communications, including SMS, email, or short code-based messages. Any associated costs may be determined periodically by relevant RAP party departments.
7. Data Protection and Privacy
RAP is committed to safeguarding your personal data in accordance with the Data Protection Act, 2019. Your information will be used solely for party-related purposes and will be stored securely. You have the right to:
- Access your data
- Request corrections or updates
- Withdraw your consent (subject to party regulations)
8. Membership Fees
Where applicable, membership fees are payable annually. Non-payment may result in suspension or termination of membership. Fee structures will be communicated via official RAP channels.
9. Prohibited Activities
As a member, you agree not to:
- Engage in hate speech, discrimination, or harassment
- Use RAP platforms for unauthorized political, commercial, or unlawful activities
- Misrepresent the party or use your membership for personal gain
- Violate any applicable laws or the Political Parties Act
10. Conduct and Disciplinary Measures
You are expected to conduct yourself with integrity, respect, and loyalty to the party. RAP reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership in cases of:
- False information
- Misconduct
- Breach of party rules or national laws
11. Termination of Membership
RAP reserves the right to suspend or terminate your membership if:
- You violate these terms or party regulations
- You submit false or misleading information
- You are involved in prohibited or unlawful activities
- Such action is required by law or the Political Parties Registrar
12. Disclaimer and Liability
- Membership in RAP does not guarantee political nomination, endorsement, or appointment.
- RAP is not liable for any loss, damage, or claims arising from use of its website, social media, or digital platforms.
- You agree to indemnify RAP and its officers against any claims resulting from your participation in party activities.
